Tough sledding: A snowless ski resort sells for a buck
A sign of a changing climate -- the New York Times reports that a ski resort in Switzerland sold for a dollar. Actually, the price was one Swiss franc, but in a significant piece of economic news, the two currencies are close to parity. The winter sports industry in Europe is scrambling to find alternatives to activities that require snow.
