There are many impacts of climate change, but perhaps one of the most significant for the mining industry is the negative impact on water resources. The number of areas affected by drought is likely to increase, whilst the potentially beneficial impacts of increased run-off in other areas are likely to be offset by the effects of increasingly variable precipitation and seasonal run-off .
